Read below and learn to avoid the get rich quick here today gone tomorrow scam/scheme out there.
Consideration #1
examine the company and make sure it is legitimate. Just because you were referred into the business by someone you know and may trust, doesn’t mean they necessarily know everything about it themselves. Check with the Better Business Bureau and the Direct Sales Association in hopes that there is no negative feedback.
It doesn’t hurt to call the company yourself and ask questions (see what their customer service is like). If they have nothing to hide, they should welcome your questions and provide you with straight & knowledgeable answers.
Consideration #2
Who are the owners of the company. A good company must have legitimate people running it. Google the owners, Co-founders and make sure you come up with a clean business record (if the owners or founders do not have any business or MLM background why partner with them?) If there is no mention of them anywhere or they are associated with scams and bankruptcies, run for the hills!
Consideration #3
What products do they endorse? Do they sell them to an end consumer? Is this product something that people want or need? Would you purchase it if you weren’t a Rep or Distributor? Are the ingredients and/or product safe? Who are the people/locations behind the development?
Consideration #4
Compensation Plan – Most leaders say the compensation plans don’t matter as people join people not companies. Would you take a job not knowing how much you are going to make or how and when you get paid? So the compensation plan matters. You don’t want a company that pays out more than 65% of what it brings in. How long do you think they will be in business doing that? Remember they have research, employees, office overhead, and many more issues to cover 45%. Can you run your house on 45% or less of your income? So that pay plan is not built to last. But you also do not want a company that only pays out as little as 20% to their reps either. You would not be in a good position to make a living this way. If the company has a fast start bonus, this usually helps to reward those in the beginning of starting the business. Stay clear of binary compensation plans. It looks good on paper because most people are lazy and like the fact that the work from the upline will spill over to you. Remember that binary plans pay distributors on their least profitable leg. The company keeps the money on your most profitable leg. If the compensation plan is not clear, the fact is the company may not want you to understand it. The less you understand, the more they are most likely profiting from all your hard work. If you need a math degree to explain your compensation plan it’s not good. Remember KISS ( Keep It Short and Simple). Most good companies will have a placement option in place this will reward people who are working on your team. Uplines can place people or volume under people who are actively building the business.
Consideration #5
What is the fee for joining the business? Does it include the product, a website, any training? If this fee is too high, it may be too difficult to recruit new distributors into the business as well as consumers wanting to purchase the product. A company that is building to last will always listen to field representatives so they can keep their finger on the pulse of what is going on. A good company is always looking to help the reps with tools and training on new and improved products. A good company is always finding new ways to reward their reps, with travel, cars, money, giving back to society etc. A good company will work with the reps to get them out of debt i.e. reward the reps for clearing off credit card bills and paying off mortgages. We all know that Mortgage means for life so it is set up to take the rest of your life to pay off.
Consideration #6
Is there any training and marketing materials included in the start up material? Is your upline there for you every step of the way? A good support team is essential in succeeding in any business. Look into your upline members. Can you do business with them, are they trustworthy would you trust your wife, husband or children with your upline. If the answer is no, no matter how much they make, don’t do business with them. In business there should always be win win involved not win loose. If you feel you are loosing with this company or upline sever your ties. It takes a lifetime to build your reputation and 1 minute to loose it.
Are you excited – If you are not excited about the company you are going to join, then how are you going to get others excited.
